साधु चरित्र

संत सरल चित जगत हित जानि सुभाउ सनेहु  । 

बालबिनय सुनि करि कृपा राम चरन रति देहु  ।। 1/3 (ख) 

संत सरल हृदय और जगत के हितकारी होते हैं, उनके ऐसे स्वभाव और स्नेह को जानकर मैं विनय करता हूँ । मेरी इस बाल-विनय को सुनकर कृपा करके श्री रामजी के चरणों में मुझे प्रीति दें ।


Realizing thus the noble disposition and loving nature of saints, who are innocent at heart and all-embracing in spirit,I make this humble submission to them.Listening to my childlike prayer and taking compassion on me, O noble souls, bless me with devotion to the feet of Lord Rama.

साधु चरित्र

बंदऊँ संत समान चित हित अनहित नहिं कोइ । 

अंजलि गत सुभ सुमन जिमि सम सुगंध कर दोइ ।। 1/3 (क)

मैं संतों को प्रणाम करता हूँ जिनके चित्त में सभी के लिए समानता का भाव होता है, जिनका न कोई मित्र है और न ही कोई शत्रु । जैसे अंजलि में रखे हुए सुंदर फूल (जिस हाथ ने फूलों को तोड़ा और जिसने उनको रखा ) उन दोनों ही हाथों को समान रूप से सुगंधित करते हैं । वैसे ही संत शत्रु और मित्र दोनों का ही समान रूप से कल्याण करते हैं । 

I bow to the saints who are even-minded towards all and have no friend or foe, just as a flower of good quality placed in the palm of one’s hands spreads its fragrance alike to both the hands ( the one which plucked it and that which held and preserved it )


सत्संग का फल

सठ सुधरहिं सतसंगति पाई । 

पारस परस कुधात सुहाई ।।

बिधि बस सुजन कुसंगत परहीं । 

फनि मनि सम निज गुन अनुसरहीं ।।   (1/2/5)

दुष्ट भी सत्संगति पाकर सुधर जाते हैं, जैसे पारस पत्थर के स्पर्श से लोहा सोने में परिवर्तित हो जाता है ।  दैवयोग से यदि कभी सज्जन कुसंगति में पड़ जाते हैं, तो वे वहाँ भी साँप की मणि के समान अपने मूल गुणों का ही अनुसरण करते हैं। ( जिस प्रकार साँप की मणि उसके विष को ग्रहण नहीं करती और अपने सहज गुण प्रकाश को नहीं छोड़ती, उसी प्रकार सज्जन लोग दुष्टों के साथ रहकर भी दूसरों को ज्ञान ही देते हैं, दुष्टों का उन पर कोई प्रभाव नहीं पड़ता )


Through contact with the noble persons even the wicked get reformed, just as a base metal is transformed by the touch of the philosopher’s stone. On the other hand, if by mischance good men fall into evil company, they maintain their noble character like the gem hidden in the hood of a serpent

सत्संग का फल

बिनु सत्संग बिबेक न होई । राम कृपा बिनु सुलभ न सोई ।।

सतसंगत मुद मंगल मूला । सोई फल सिधि सब साधन फूला ।। (1/2/4)

सत्संग के बिना विवेक नहीं होता और श्री रामचन्द्र जी की कृपा के बिना वह सत्संग सहज में मिलता नहीं । सत्संगति आनंद और कल्याण का मूल है । सत्संग की प्राप्ति ही फल है और सब साधन तो फूल हैं । 

Association of noble souls is the root of joy and blessings; it constitutes the very fruit and fulfilment of all endeavours, whereas all other practices are merely blossoms. 

सज्जनों का चरित्र

साधू चरित सुभ चरित कपासू । निरस बिसद गुनमय फल जासू ।।

जो सहि दुख परछिद्र दुरावा । बंदनीय जेहिं जग जस पावा ।। 1/1/3

सज्जनों का चरित्र कपास के समान शुभ एवं निर्मल होता है, जिसका फल नीरस, विशद और गुणमय होता है । जैसे  कपास लोढ़े जाने, काते जाने और बुने जाने का कष्ट सहकर भी वस्त्र के रूप में परिणत होकर दूसरों के दोषों को ढँकता है, उसी प्रकार संत स्वयं दुःख सहकर भी दूसरों के दोषों को ढँकते हैं । इसी कारण उन्होंने जगत में वंदनीय यश प्राप्त किया है ।

The conduct of holy men is noble as of the cotton whose fruit is tasteless, white and fibrous (even as the doings of saints yield results which are free from attachment, stainless and full of goodness). Even by suffering hardships (in the form of ginning, spinning and weaving) the cotton covers others faults and has thereby earned in the world a renown which is worthy of adoration

Prayer of Maharshi Valmiki & Lord Hanuman

सीताराम गुणग्राम पुण्यारण्य विहारिणौ ।

वन्दे विशुद्धविज्ञानौ कवीश्वर-कपीश्वरौ ॥ बालकांड ३ ।।

श्री सीतारामजी के गुणसमूह रूपी पवित्र वन में विहार करने वाले, विशुद्ध विज्ञान सम्पन्न कवीश्वर श्री वाल्मीकिजी और कपीश्वर श्री हनुमानजी की मैं वन्दना करता हूँ ।

I pray homage to the king of poets ( Maharshi Valmiki ) and the chief on monkeys ( Lord Hanuman) who have pure intelligence and both sport in the holy woods enshrined as glories of Shri Sita and Lord Rama. 

Worship of Lord Shankar

वन्दे बोधगम्यं नित्यं गुरुं शंकररूपिणम् ।

यमाश्रितो हि वक्रोऽपि चन्द्रः सर्वत्र वन्द्यते ॥ 

  ।। बालकांड ३ ॥

ज्ञानमय, नित्य भगवान शंकर रूपी गुरु की मैं वन्दना करता हूँ,  जिनके आश्रित होने से ही टेढ़ा चन्द्रमा भी सर्वत्र वन्दित होता है ।

I salute the preceptor in the form of Lord Shankar who is eternal and embodiment of all the wisdom. The crescent moon, resting on whose forehead, though curved in shape is universally praised.
